QUESTION POSED ON: 24 August 2004
Is there any other way to have a 2000 Terminal Server see a 2003 license server if it is not the domain controller, except by modifying the registry to designate the default license server? I presently have a 2000 domain controller as the license server running AD. I want to upgrade this to a 2003 domain controller and have decided to move the Terminal Services licensing to a different 2003 server that is not the domain controller. I have a 2003 license server, but the 2000 Terminal Server will only see the one that is the 2000 domain controller.

EXPERT RESPONSE
Unfortunately, the licensing model for 2000 and 2003 changed (see here for more details). Just as you did when moving from TSE to Windows 2000 terminal services, you'll need to match the version of your license server.
